Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals

We are a large acute hospital NHS Trust covering Barnet and the newly developed Chase Farm site, that consists of Consultants and SAS with multiple speciality interests.

We have Adult and Paediatric surgical specialities such as Major complex Colorectal, Cancer, Spine, Intermediate Head and neck surgery, ENT and Max Fax. We are also a large Obstetric unit with an annual delivery rate of about 5700 and have busy 23 bedded ITU/HDU.

Apart from curriculum, there are opportunities to take up QI projects.

We have a very active Educational faculty who provide educational supervision and teaching for the trainees. We provide management experience to senior trainees.

We have a fully equipped Library with Simulation facilities onsite and a trainee’s room with full IT facilities.

We provide ample study leave (including private study leave of 5 days/year).

We have three trainee reps representing ACCS/Core, CT2/CT3 and ST3+ trainees.
Trainee reps attend local faculty meetings (three times a year) to discuss matters related to training, education, rotas and working environment.

  • Chase Farm hospital is an elective surgical centre. There is an urgent care centre and Enhanced surgical Recovery Unit.
