Personal biography and interests
Douglas is currently a Higher Trainee in Anaesthesia and is the Higher Trainee Representative for the Central London School. He is also the current Chair of the London Academy of Anaesthesia Trainee Representative Group. He received his medical degree from the University of Glasgow in 2010 and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He has a long-standing interest in issues surrounding end of life and achieved a First Class Honours Degree at University College London in Philosophy, Medicine and Society focussing on medical ethics in 2008. He is currently working towards his PhD at University College London looking at end of life care in the perioperative setting and has published an editorial and systematic review discussing this issue in the British Journal of Anaesthesia.
