University College London, in collaboration with University College London Hospital clinicians and many worldwide experts, has developed Airway Matters, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) endorsed by the Difficult Airway Society.

The safe management of a patient’s airway is one of the most challenging and complex tasks undertaken by a health professional.  Complications can result in devastating outcomes.

How can we improve safety, prevent complications, and be prepared to manage difficulties when they arise? How, in a crisis, can we ensure that human and technical resources are best utilised?

This MOOC explores answers to these questions, with evidence on the latest technical and non-technical aspects of airway management, and current guidelines to help develop safe airway management strategies for all patients.

The content has been carefully designed to provide an up to date, original and practical educational experience.  Learners can access comprehensive course materials developed in partnership with leading experts, frontline clinicians and patients, and use the provided platform for a global discussion.
