Overview

The Royal College of Anaesthetists is holding an informal session for foundation year students who are considering a career in anaesthesia. The day is not intended to provide personal career guidance, but instead will focus on the general aspects of the specialty. The day will provide an insight into life as a trainee and consultant anaesthetist. There will also be plenty of time for questions.

Topics Covered

• Life as an anaesthetic trainee
• Assessment and supervision of training
• Recruitment and application process
• Academic anaesthesia
• Intensive care medicine

Delegate feedback from previous event:

• “Very good speakers with well-chosen topics. Information to help with the applications process and to encourage my interest in Anaesthetics as a career. Thank you.”
• “Excellent morning. All faculty very helpful and encouraging.”
• “Very informative, addressed all of my question/concerns regarding upcoming applications. Interactive and entertaining enough to keep me awake despite being post ED nights.”
