The AIRWAY HUB comes to ARCHWAY!

Dear Airway Enthusiasts!

Hopefully some of you will have already heard of The Airway Hub; a multidisciplinary teaching platform for all things related to airway anaesthesia. We started 2 years ago at UCH and have grown successfully to form an award-winning pan-London teaching network and a forum for debate and discussion over airway knowledge, skills, equipment and clinical cases.

I am delighted to announce that the June edition of The Airway Hub will be held at The Whittington Hospital WEC on Wednesday 26th June 2019 from 4.30-6.30pm.

The format is:

4.30pm-5.30pm

SKILLS TRAINING: Fibreoptic intubation, Emergency Front of Neck Access, Videolaryngoscopy, Optiflow/THRIVE®, Aintree Exchange Catheter Intubation, ORSIM®, etc.

This is a super useful drop-in session for anyone who wants to practice their airway skills on models, with one-to-one training and discussion.

5.30pm-6.15pm

LECTURE: This month’s theme is “The Obese Airway”.

In this session we will cover the management of the obese airway, including the emergency FONA guidelines where you cannot palpate the cricothyroid membrane.

6.15pm onwards

Discussion forum, refreshments and cheese.

If anyone has an interesting case presentation, or topic they wish to present/discuss relating to this theme, I would be delighted to add you into the program.

Please contact me ASAP.
