Hi All!

We are re-advertising this post for anyone who might be at a loose end this August!

Applications are invited for this 6-12 month fellowship to start in August 2015, or soon after by negotiation. The successful applicant will be involved in ongoing studies, setting up of new projects, and preparation of data and manuscripts for publication/ presentation. Current projects have led to numerous abstracts accepted at the OAA Annual Meeting, prize winning abstracts presented at GOAL and international poster presentations at SOAP Annual Congress.
The post encompasses protected research time, 3 clinical sessions per week and a 1:8 resident on-call commitment. It is envisaged that on-call duties will be spent primarily in covering obstetric anaesthesia.
The post is to be locally supervised by Dr Mark Nel, Lead for Obstetric Anaesthesia and Dr Con Papageorgiou, Lead for Quality, Audit and Research. It is open to senior trainees who ideally should hold the FRCA.
The department runs a busy structured training programme and appointees are encouraged to take part in this. The hospital has the facility of an excellent Postgraduate library.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust comprises a 409-bedded acute hospital (9 operating theatres), as well as a dedicated Treatment Centre at the Mount VernonHospital site (4 theatres), which acts as an elective unit for orthopaedic and general surgery. We expect the appointees to be able to work flexibly with colleagues and with changing service requirements. The anaesthetic department consists of 23 Consultants, 3 Associate Specialists, 16 Speciality Doctors and 20 Trainees, who at present work a 1 in 8 rota. To apply please complete application and upload your CV.
