Following a very successful roll out of this fellowship post, I am recruiting for a new Patient Safety Fellow in anaesthesia vailable from May 5th this year. Please see the attached job description.
This post is a challenging and unique opportunity to align education, including medical simulation, with the safety and management activities of the NHS. During day-time sessions the primary purpose of the fellowship is at least a day a week commitment to a medical education/simulation episode, be it instructing, course development or research and other more flexible days to attend and contribute towards the relevant management and clinical governance activities of the trust. The clinical component includes a 1:6 on call commitment at the Sutton site of the trust and theatre sessions to match the trainee’s clinical development.
The current fellow, Rohit, has embedded himself into both local and regional NHS initiatives with several bespoke projects, including research through this fellowship. He would be happy to be contacted for further information on or contact myself (email as below) for more information.
I have already been canvassed by several anaesthetic trainees who are enthusiastic about the possibility of learning about and contributing to the management structure of a hospital trust, as well as developing their educational profile. As such I am just advertising this position within the North West and North Central Schools .
If you are interested in applying, please forward your Curriculum Vitae to me, Dr Orla Lacey at by midnight on Friday the 5th March 2010 for consideration.
